Pope Francis recently said “We need to see the light of hope and to be men and women who bring hope to others.”
Catholic Talk is a group of lay and religious people who seek to share our faith in the media and participate in public discourse with respect, humility, truth and clarity. We join all Australians in the search for a true and just society and offer a contribution from the rich Catholic tradition of thought and action.
We don’t speak on behalf of any bishop or diocese. We were brought together with the support of many organisations including the Archdiocese of Sydney to articulate a personal, relevant and clear Catholic perspective in the media and at public gatherings.

Humility – we believe nothing can be achieved without it
"No one reaches the kingdom of Heaven except by humility" St Augustine
Truth – we are motivated by what is good and true
“The Church exists to communicate the truth” Pope Francis
Clarity – we seek to be clear all we communicate
“We are not ordained, commissioned, or prepared to keep our message shrouded in darkness, or to store the light under the bushel for fear of the media and the greater public.” Fr Tom Rosica, Salt and Light Television
